STEEL PARTS IS IMPORTANT FOR THE CARBIDE HAMMER BITS?

The answer is NO!!! Three reasons here we go:

① Welding technique determines whether the  carbide tips falls off

Whether it is conducive to welding is the key point for selecting a steel (body part). We used to provide some domestic customers with carbide tips, they welded by themselves, however, their feedback was not good, so they took it for granted that it was carbide tips’ problem. They do not realize it is a welding technical problem until we teach them. That is why we prefer supply welded carbide hammer bits for customers directly, not only for the convenience to track quality stability, but also bring a better user experience. In fact, there’s little significance to pursuit hardness of steel part, which will only increase the cost. Actually, steel 25# , 35#，45# is satisfying for the Crusher rotor tips.

② Impact of carbide tips determines whether it breaks or not

Not break is the basic standard when we say carbide tips is qualified.

 

③ Hardness of the carbide tips determines the wear-resistance

Hardness is what we care to promote our GRADE. When hammer bits works, steel and carbide tips they are wearing and reducing at the same time or carbide tips first then steel(body part), so it is the carbide tips plays a key role. Moreover, we have done a test and the report shows that even after heating treatment, the hardness of steel(78HRA) is still much lower than tungsten carbide(91.5HRA).

 

So the hardness of the steel will not affect the lifetime of the carbide hammer bits. Our factory has studied the production and welding on cemented carbide for 17 years, about 12 years on carbide hammer bits, a segment market. We gather a lot of feedback from crushing plants, and design suitable carbide grades for their needs to improve productivity&profitability. All of these makes us much confident on the crushing fields.
