Hardfacing Process
Hardfacing requires a few key steps:
Surface Preparation: We thoroughly clean the base metal to remove all rust, oil, and dirt.
Preheating: Base metals like high carbon or alloy steel must be preheated. This prevents thermal shock and welding cracks.
Applying Consumables: Using MCT's tungsten carbide grits or powder, we apply the overlay via welding or thermal spraying. We often add multiple layers for extreme wear areas.
Controlled Cooling: The cooling speed must be strictly controlled to prevent the metal from cracking.
