A jaw crusher handles the primary crushing of large, blasted rocks. Inside a jaw rock crusher, the crushing happens between two core parts: the stationary jaw plates (also known as fixed jaw plates) and the swing jaw plates (movable jaw plates). They act as the "teeth" of the machine. The rocks are fed between them and get crushed by powerful squeezing, splitting, and bending forces. To increase the bite force and improve crushing efficiency, these jaw crusher plates are usually designed with corrugated tooth shapes.
